I was doing server reinstall from already installed linux OS via grub
bootstraping (to continue installation via SSH due to lacking access to
the server's physical console). I noticed that ISO file

totally unreadable (click blindly around especially on 4K display? ;) )
and this is just live USB drive before any installation happening?

I'm reporting this issue from stock Ubuntu, but the problem is observed
only in Kubuntu (can be reliably reproduced in a Kubuntu 22.04 VM). The
version of xdg-utils is identical.
This problem was initially reported on the snapcraft forum:
Has anyone tried logging into a Wayland session to see if that avoids
the bug? On the login screen it will either be called 'Ubuntu on
Wayland' or just 'Ubuntu' if the only other option is 'Ubuntu on Xorg'.
