Hello,
I have the same problem while using ubuntu 9.04 alpha (kernel 2.6.28), but only
at first insert.
Pluging headphones doesn`t switch off the speakers, after pluging out and
pluging in again, speakers are muted, and headphones works OK

Update 26.02.2009:
OSS is available, it is possible to play sounds. Still Pulse audio doesn`t
work.
It is much better.

pulseaudio -vv ... after 2-3 minutes I`ve just cancelled it stopped in
one place.
Nevertheless, pulseaudio was installed by default, but it worked till
today.
Right now in Volume control there are only 2 devices: Null Output and
Monitor of Null Output

Hello,
Right now it is works like that: closing the lid switch off display - it
gets black, but backlight is still active. As the suspend crashes
system, I have a problem to test suspending, I will change behaviour to
another action and follow your instructions. Results will be at monday.

That was first change that I`ve made. I used to not switch off the
laptop while using Windows XP, so I tried to set Ubuntu into the same
way.

changed by me, so there were ones that were assigned by default.
