Can confirm that the x86 version works with no issues using the latest
SiS163u Windows XP driver. It would seem it is the x64 version / driver
causing the issues - this is in line with previous releases of Ubuntu on
the Amilo Li1818 - the x64 version always has issues with the SiS163u
card.

I'm also getting this exact issue on a Fujitsu Li1818 with the SiS163u
card. With the card off it works perfectly, enable the kill switch for
the wifi and it will connect to the local WLAN and then freeze, coming
back for a few seconds at a time but essentially being useless.

A mi me ha pasado intentando actualizar la versión 7.10. Recien bajada del
servidor.
SOLUCIONADO quitando el es. a las direcciones de los repositorios. Es decir,
dejando:
http://archive.ubuntu.com en vez de
http://es.archive.ubuntu.com
el archivo que pide que se adjunte es el siguiente.

Ok, I don't really get all this, but at the moment I'm only running Live
CD because I'm only using Ubuntu temporarily at the moment (may use it
permenantly later) but for now, is there a way I can save preferences
and changes I make to the settings on the Live CD - eg. to a USB drive
as it can't
