When I install Gutsy Beta on my Dell Inspiron 510m (Intel 855GM) with
1400x1050 screen, the resolution is 1200x1024.
The correct resolution can be manually selected in the Screen Resolution
set-up. This is sub-optimal because
Gutsy Beta (with the Firefox that comes with it) uses the US
spellchecker. Typing words like centre into a text box like this one
causes them to be underlined. If I right-click and look at languages,
En_US is checked. Obviously, changing the language to En_GB fixes the
issue.

There is no language/locale pack for NZ, as far as I can see. My system
has the en-gb locale installed by default (which probably explains why
the spellcheck is available in the right-click list) but the spellcheck
language defaults to US.

When I install Gutsy Beta on my Dell Inspiron 510m (Intel 855GM) with

I have Ubuntu and Windows on this machine and manually edited the grub
menu.lst to put Windows above the automatic Ubuntu section (so that it
booted by default).

It is worth noting that I have two Swap partitions on my testing
machine. I understand that Ubiquity uses these if they are available. If
that is the case, it is quite possible that Ubiquity wouldn't work on a
machine that had only the system requirements listed on the Ubuntu
website (256MB RAM).

I have a Dell Inspiron 510m. I have this partitioned into a Dell
recovery partition, a WindowsXP partition, a /, /swap and /home
partition for Feisty (my stable install) and a testing / and /swap for
Gutsy Tribe 5.
I installed Tribe 5 when it was first released, using the

think how it could have happened since install.
What I mean by that is that I don't know when it happened. I normally
check that the install hasn't prevented anything happening to my other

Okay, so the problem must be that i810 is used in a Gutsy install on my
machine when it should be intel. I am fairly certain about this,
given that it didn't have 1400x1050 when I installed Gutsy. I can,
however, reinstall Tribe
It seems that intel is not without its issues. It seems to make the
system a lot slower and things like Suspend aren't working. Until that
is sorted, I can see why it isn't the default.
Also, I don't know if this bug should be closed. The bug is that -i810
can't do 1400x1050 natively. It can't.

If intel isn't meant to be the default, I suppose that there is no point
filing a bug that it isn't the default on my machine. I guess that I
just wait for intel to stabilise enough to replace i810.

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
I am using Gutsy Tribe 5. On Feisty, everything works as expected.
I am using a Dell Inspiron 510m. Apparently it has two battery bays,
although I have only ever had one battery in it.
I have set the preference to shut down on
Hmm... I haven't done any updates, but everything is working okay now in
Tribe 5.
I wonder if it is something unusual like Gnome Keyring needing to be set
up before NM tries to save to it.

I am using WPA now. As I say, I tested WEP on Tribe 4.

Seahorse could follow Totem's example: if multiple files are selected,
it opens them all enqueued.
