so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com

Does it boot up properly more often if you add 'plymouth.enable=0' to
the kernel boot options?
So I removed the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and added plymouth.enable=0
to the boot options (after quiet splash - correct?)
And no, it does not boot up properly, it still goes to low graphics mode

Can you explain how to find this? I have searched my system for that
file name and nothing is found
I have 3 files in /var/crash/ if that helps?
See attached

Public bug reported:
When searching in nautilus and adding a new criterion to the search,
black pixels are shown in the top right of the 'X' sign on the right.
Please see attachment for what I mean
This may be my graphics card, so please tell me how to submit more
graphics details if so

Bugs,
OK, I have attached the files from that folder, there are only one of
each, so I don't know how to tell which crash it's from?

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1125759/+attachment/3532002/+files/lightdmlogs.tar.gz
I just noticed that Xorg.0.log file in /var/log/ if it helps
Again, I don't know which boot it's from
Should I delete those files and then repeat the boot?
** Attachment added: Xorglog.tar.gz
If you were to change UXA to SNA in your xorg.conf snippet, it should
also work. Can you please test that?
You are correct!
Let me know if there are any further tests you want me to do

I can't get a screenshot of what I mean so I hope I can describe it
Reproduce 'Off' button bug:
- Click Sync menu drop down
- Click the 'On' button, switching it 'Off'
What happens:
- The 'Off' button overlaps off the edge of the screen slightly
Reproduce 'On' button
If it helps, here is a video showing what I mean
Not sure if other people see this behavior, or if it's just me?
