My local cyrus IMAP system has been working for years, ever since the
ubuntu upgrade to 8.10 I've been unable to access it -- any IMAP
connection crashes IMAPD. Now tracking ubuntu 9.04 and its still the
same, unable to use IMAP.

I have the same problem, my system under feisty was running beryl with
an nvidia driver and had a the four-sided cube and other effects. After
upgrading to gutsy I can only login if I choose the failsafe-gnome every
time, otherwise I get the following in ~/.xsession-errors:

dist-upgrade. I *think* what may have happened is that I started the
automatic upgrade early in the morning and went to work, by about 10pm
it had finally downloaded all the DEBs and got to the point where the

Problem seemed to be because gettext-el and sawfish were looking for
=/usr/lib/X11/locale=, and there isn't one anymore, things are in
=/usr/share/X11/locale=. Created a symbolic link from the real one to
where it was looking and re-ran =apt-get -u dist-upgrade= and it fixed
those up.
