I have the same problem. The screen just gone black after gdm. but if I press ctrl + alt + f1 then press ctrl + alt + f7, i can get the screen to work properly... After I added (Option UseDisplayDevice DFP) in xorg.conf, it still didn't work... Anyone knows how to fix it? it's Nvidia GeForce
