Still a big issue.
We run a 14.04 Host on the bare-metal, with 14.04 guests. From my remote
Ubuntu 15.04 desktop the virt-manager windows are pretty useless.
Have tried various combinations of spice and VNC and graphics options in
the virt-manager guest configuration but it seems to make little

I've now installed gnome-session-flashback and run the Metacity variant
which is working fine.
When running Unity compiz eats 100% cpu most of the time... Drag a
window and it shoots up. Moving windows around the screen is unusable.

Chrome-Remote-Desktop installed, nor do I need it as my backups are
handled differently. Am on 14.04 LTS up-to-date and have only recently

Audio was fine.
This week, I attempted to join a further webinar from the same company
again via webex. I am now running a fresh 10.10 64bit Desktop install.

If I start the gnome-volume-control from the command line, go to the
hardware tab and click the Test Speakers button, the app crashes.

This is a bizarre decision.
I noticed the removal of the tooltips last week and was confused and
annoyed. It now requires several clicks to get to information that was
readily available just by hovering.
I think I understand the idea to simplify and reduce but this is
breaking something which

No, I am now using the Gwibber daily builds from the PPA currently at
version 2.29.91.
I don't recall having any problems with the main gwibber package but I
replaced it as the UI in the main version was not very good and lacked
polish. The new PPA version is much nicer :-)

Fully updated Ubuntu Karmic as of today (25/08/09 at 10:05 BST).
Hardware: Asus 1008HA
3G dongle: Option ICON 225 (Uses kernel module hso.ko)
Plugging in the USB stick and removing it without attempting to make a
connection does not cause the failure.
To cause failure,

This error occurred after a dist-upgrade. System didn't crash. System
wasn't resuming from a suspend or hibernate either. It did kill compiz
though. But other than that it seems OK.

up.

I can confirm this too. I use the Option 225 on Orange UK's contract
network. It works fine under Jaunty but there is breakage in the
detection in Karmic.
Have attached the output of possibly interesting logs for both
insertions and removals of the dongle. Will be happy to test potential
fixes.

I'm using an up-to-date Jaunty and have experienced the above problem
ever since switching to Linux.
However today I thought I'd try again.
Initially I had the same problems: Xsane identified the scanner but
would stall at about 25% and freeze.
