CPU(motherboard doesn't support it, the first three alpha won't boot.

your CPU and, as lylepratt wrote, your motherboard. You can find more

Always the same problème, two months and lots of updates later
But, that's something strange about this delay.
It doesn't happen if Synaptic was opened at least one time during the session...

Please also note I have (of course) the same behaviour using ext3 for the /boot
partition.
Strangely, the Guided - use entire disk and set up encrypted LVM procedure

I totally agree with Martin Schwenke's comment. I have the same problem
with an external USB drive (Hitachi Travelstar in a Sarotech Cutie
case). Unmount from the right-click menu was working in Edgy, of course
this is regression!
And what about usability? How to explain to my mother that Linux
False alert. This behaviour follows a wrong manual action on the Unison
package.
