The further apt-get update also failed to update the system. I don't
know how to capture the text from the upgrade window console (tried
Ctrl-C or Ctrl-Shift-C but didn't work). So giving bits and pieces here,

XP and my Ubuntu experience is now limited to my home desktop. So since

Unfortunately I had to shift to Windows on my company laptop. So there
is no way I can verify this at the moment. I upgraded my desktop on line
to Jaunty so don't have the latest livecd to check with the laptop. I
believe this should not be hardware specific. So somebody with Ubuntu on
laptop

The writer started working normally after around 5 minutes of freeze
time (after I finished adding the above comments). I had also opened the
help related to hyper links and it was also frozen during that time.
However the behavior of writer hanging after nearly every action for 5

I was running Evolution (with one mail message opened), Gnome termial
(with screen utility), Galeon web browser, Gedit when this happened. In
the notification area the Pidgin was also running. None of the other

I am facing the same issue with Hardy Heron on my HP laptop (Compaq
nx6120). The suspend works properly, however, resume sometimes don't
work. I have run Edgy, Feisty, Gutsy on my same laptop with the same
BIOS settings and it is only happening in Hardy (so a regression bug).
