I'm now using Gnome's nm-applet and everything is working fine. You
might want to give it a try if you don't want to leave network-manager,
it integrates quite nicely into KDE4 as well.

I tried to follow the instructions your link pointed to, but had no
success - gdb always ended with the message Program exited normally.
and I could not get a backtrace.
When I recently reproduced the bug, the KCrash automatically gave me
some output, though. You find it the attachment, maybe

on the summary page by right-clicking the percent number. The number is
correctly set to 100%, though.

Same thing here.
Here's what syslog says when I try to add a vpnc connection:
Mar 31 18:19:18 kubuntu NetworkManager: WARN
connection_get_settings_cb(): connection_get_settings_cb: Invalid
connection: 'NMSettingVPN' / 'service-type' invalid: 1
I've also attached the partially saved connection
I can reproduce this and observed more strange behaviour: When a window
is on my Desk 4, moving it to any other Desk with Move to Another
Workspace will make it end up on the left edge of Desk 1.
