Without xorg.cong file, I have the purple line yet. The glxinfo show
that the ati driver is not put by default. Anyways the perfomance is
nice (about 8500 fps on glxgears and 15 segs on gtkperf).

Good news! I solve this problem.
It seems that there was a configuration file obsolete.
In my case it was the file ~/.drirc
If you delete the file, glxinfo back.
rm ~/.drirc

I have to reinstall de package xserver-xorg-core, because some file as
/usr/lib/libGL.so.1 maybe not are present.
This bug is for request and show a message of error or exception when
compiz crash with SIGSEGV in glXCreateContext(). These should be
useful.
Now this is the ouput:

I have a ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600 SE and have the same problems.
Jaunty can't run fglrx.
fglrx BREAK ubuntu, the open source driver not have enough power.
This need to be fixed before 9.04!! Go ATI release your new drivers such
as open source!!

In Jaunty with 0.9.14-0ubuntu8 (also pulseaudio 0.9.15-test3) broke GDM
at start. I only can start Ubuntu with Gnome Failsafe!
File .xsession-errors and command pulseaudio show the same thing:
