[Bug 1902329] [NEW] 20.10 do-release-upgrade reports wrong version during upgrade from 20.04.1

2020-10-30 Thread Bill Stewart
Public bug reported: I upgraded a VMware virtual machine from Ubuntu 20.04.1 to 20.10, using the release upgrade GUI from the Software Updater. The upgrade itself worked fine. But during the upgrade, the upgrade tool claimed it was "Upgrading Ubuntu to version 20.04" instead of to 20.10.

Ooops, I linked this by mistake. Bug 267376 is actually about Intrepid, much less important than Hardy which is promoted to the world as an LTS release. I don't know how to unduplicate this - please do so if you do. And if you can communicate with Mark Shuttleworth directly, please raise this
