I upgraded a VMware virtual machine from Ubuntu 20.04.1 to 20.10, using the
release upgrade GUI from the Software Updater. The upgrade itself worked fine.
But during the upgrade, the upgrade tool claimed it was "Upgrading Ubuntu to
version 20.04" instead of to 20.10.
Since this was a virtual machine (VMware Player running on a laptop),
not real hardware, I'm skeptical that memtest would report anything
useful (or at least, that it would realistically reproduce the previous
events.) If there were actual hardware problems, most likely they'd be
bad blocks on

I run VMware Player on my Windows 7-64 machine.
I downloaded the latest Lubuntu ISO.
I tried to create a new virtual machine, storing the disk on a removable flash
drive, installing Lubuntu.
VMware Player suggested that ACE might be a better way to go (but I ignored it,
Still a problem in LibreOffice Impress 3.6.3.2.
It would be great to have this fixed, as otherwise one has to turn
autofit off, and then laboriously change font sizes and spacing until it
fits properly on the page (not too long, not too short).

Hi, I marked this as duplicate of

since that appears to be the main item, with many other duplicates
pointed at it, and it was updated in
Ooops, I linked this by mistake. Bug 267376 is actually about Intrepid,
much less important than Hardy which is promoted to the world as an LTS
release.
I don't know how to unduplicate this - please do so if you do.
