The other audio stuff worked fine prior to (and after) the update.

Say I was able to follow the instructions and get an apport crash data.

I found this fix in the Ubuntu Forums and it worked for me:
Open a Terminal
* sudo gedit /etc/init.d/bluetooth
* Find the pkill -TERM bluetoothd line
* Replace it with pkill -TERM bluetoothd || true
Save it and run sudo apt-get upgrade. It will prompt you if you want to
overwrite
While I agree that that discussion needs to take place, I really don't

Found the problem by an Ubuntu Forums post. Ran sudo apt-get install
xserver-xorg-input-all to install necessary package, rebooted, and the
problem is fixed!
