Do you have percona-server-client-5.7 installed from a third party?
From the error message it sounds like it may be conflicting with
mysql-8.0. If you don't need percona, you could try purging it
completely before installing mysql. If you need both installed
together, I'd recommend

LIBINSANE_WORKAROUND_DEDICATED_PROCESS=0 in debian/tests/unittests. We
could try doing similarly, or just sync 2.0.3-2 from Debian unstable.

I've verified the upstream patch builds locally, packaged it, and stuck
it in this PPA:

still an issue in xenial but fixed in zesty and newer. LP: #1588915 is
still open but seems to be an ifupdown bug rather than autofs itself,
and has not been updated since 2017 and I'm not sure if it is still an
issue on newer

docs could be a bit confusing:
-t , --timeout
Set the global minimum timeout, in seconds, until directories are
unmounted. The default is
10 minutes. Setting the timeout to zero disables
[Xenial and Yakkety are no longer under standard support.]
