running 16.04.1 Fujitsu Lifebook E752 single head. no screensaver that i know of.
i don't use locking, but when returning from sleep the screen is locked. so far, most of the times the pw-field is there, but not usable. i also think that there should be icons in the top right corner and a clock maybe? the space is empty. just now i had a case of pw-field missing altogether. found this bug. did not find any newer bug, so i post here. initially recovered with workaround "unity --replace" which made the PW- field show up. i could unlock the desktop, seemed fine. now desktop totally screwed up: alt-tab unresponsive, launcher missing, top-bar missing, whole thing looks funny. mouse works, can use scroll-wheel and mark text in a left-over, fullscreen terminal, but not type.. put computer back to sleep, woke up again, now got a gray box that says "Chris" (my username) "Password", a field and button s switch user and unlock. never saw that before. might be because i tried to use described locking procedure (ctrl-alt-l) which was suggesting to fix some things, which did not seem to work. typed PW, screen went away. back to screwed up desktop. keyboard seemed useless. noticed that ctrl-n opens file-browser. works repeatedly. with those windows open, i can use alt-tab to switch between these new windows. browser, netbeans, thunderbird (should all be still living in the background) are not presented. task-switcher looks funny, too. just a row of images and a box around the middle one. used file-browser to start a video. worked. can now use alt-tab to switch between file-browser and videoplayer. i am a noob. if you need something, tell me. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1311316 Title: After locking screen there is no input field to type password for unlock To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1311316/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
