This bug is extremely annoying to me when performing certain operations.
Is there anything I can do to help fix it? I also get it using FTP,
windows shares, and in fact, any sort of GVFS connection.

This bug is causing a lot of problems. As the avahi-daemon is enabled
by default, you need a great deal of knowledge to know what is going on
here. For instance, our Microsoft network in the office uses the
popular .local pseudo domain.
When connected to the VPN:
ping server - Works fine

I have this problem in 2.6.20-16-generic too, (in feisty fawn) and the
above solution does not work for me. I've had this card working on this
installation already, but now it has stopped! I'll post any further
information I find out here.
