It certainly does! I had no idea that that was why i couldn't get it to
work, I'm so glad you said that!!! This is really quite major in
something as fundamental to the Ubuntu experience as openoffice.org

you do uninstall it all it does is grey out the relevant buttons in
openoffice, not make them disappear. I was thinking of students, any

Can it not just go in the multiverse? It's considerably more free than
things that are in there already, flash, nvidia driver, etc... surely
there's no need to remove it from the repos completely?

calc etc. But, the package openoffice.org itself is not, this means that
some vital parts of openoffice.org (e.g. openoffice.org-math ) are not
depended upon and therefore not installed.

If there isn't, then an allowance should definitely be made for the
openoffice.org-math package. This is installed by default in EVERY
previous release of Ubuntu and is used by a lot of people. At present
the option to edit, or insert formulae is simply greyed out. This cause
problems for a
