I agree. Apparently the only clue I get is that the active window has a white center instead of an orange one. But if the window is small, that amounts to nothing (see enclosed). Furthermore, the indication doesn't change until after I've stopped switching (at least with a compiz desktop cube).

The current status of this bug for me in Intrepid is that without my scripts, resume works the first time and then fails the second time. The failure manifests itself by showing me a blank screen. If I wait long enough, X is restarted automatically; it appears to be on vt8 instead of vt7.
