System freezes from time to time, Brasero is not involved in most of them !
Freezes seems to occur when a windows is being displayed (when changing from an
application to another) or refreshed (loading a new page in Firefox) AND the
mouse is moved at the same time.

It works with 0.7.0.1 version from your repository (on Intrepid).
For Hugin itself, my two main concerns :
- Hugin does not remember the current directory (used for the previous pano),
until we leave Hugin and restart it.
- Hugin does not propose any more a name for the file to create, as it was

I think that I did not installed hugin from backports on Intrepid :
version 0.7.0~svn3191+beta5~1ubuntu1 for the 3 packages
Your ppa repository does not appear in my Synaptic and backports are not
activated.

if I put Hardy for the source list, Hugin is not marked as updatable
if I put Intrepid, Hugin can be updated but it can not be done as errors for

Many freezes later :
- most of the freezes come with file management :
* Nautilus + Brasero : at the end of cd burning, brasero ejects the cd, you
have to introduce it for a check. Nautilus then opens a new window to display
cd contents. Brasero begins the check and all ends with a freeze.
Maybe related to this bug or not : sometimes, Hugin exits when starting
the assembly, just after having clicked on button.
As an addon to the first post, Hugin accepts to remove a photo and add a
new one if no connection point has previously been defined. It seems to

It's now OK with SRB from Synaptic.
But the problem still exists for people who just install this extension
from OOo site. Nothing alerts them that this particular extension will
not work ... As Ubuntu refuses to work with standard extension, Ubuntu
should prevent people from loading them !

Hardy Beta again , but installed on PC :
After having tested Hardy Beta on LiveUSB (see previous post), I
installed it on my home PC. This of course required to perform the steps
as described in previous post to have a liveUSB session with a correct
display. But then, I started installation that
Hardy : not OK on Beta, but ...
As soon as Hardy Beta appeared, I downloaded it and gave it a try on my PC :
- boot on liveusb : crazy video as usual when session starts
- ctl alt F1, stop gdm, xorg.conf modif, start gdm : fail, try to remove lock :
no lock, start gdm again : ok and then correct
I downloaded alpha5 CD and tested it on my pc : same thing as usual, display
doesn't work when booting on cd. On another PC, it's OK. It is frustrating as I
had no problem on Feisty. I dropped Gutsy because I didn't succeed in having 3D
working, after having difficulties to get a proper video.
I just tested Hardy alpha 3 cd (and live usb), but it does not work : as soon
as session is started, the screen is no more readible (as in first screen shot
above), and the mouse is still correct and can be moved. For Gutsy I already
filled a bug (that I can't find now ??) that has been linked

- boot on live usb hardy alpha 3
- messy screen when session starts
- ctl (?) alt F1 = console session
- look at xorg.conf : not a classic one ???
- can not see where to put agpmode !

Why didn't you mention the normal cursor before? :) : I think I were
more upset by the 99,9% of my desktop scrambling through the screen than

function anymore : another problem with H sync on video ??? May be that
some Gutsy upgrades proposed by ubuntu that have been applied have

I think that on Feisty, I never installed the ATI driver, as the normal
driver was correctly working, including with 3D effects and Compiz (that I
don't use anymore).

- Back on Gutsy with partimage . I put BusType PCI in xorg.conf as you

- Boot on Gutsy : I got a popup saying Ubuntu on low resolution mode. There I
tried to configure what I could (card, screen) : but no success, so I

option as before, then i rebooted ... and got the ubuntu in low res
message, and I am now in 800*600 res !
