didn't change anything for me
For example I can't type û in some app , it makes ^u

the missing workbenches are in /usr/lib/freecad/data/Mod instead of

On my system the bug was caused by a PPD encoded in Windows-1252 instead of
UTF-8.
After re-encoding the file, everything was fine !
It would be cool to have an error message like Unable to read PPD file,
please check the file.

It's a big issue for me since I planned to deploy Ubuntu 14.04 in
enterprise.
Another thing, I can't create archive on sftp share too but in this case
file-roller simply crash.
