problem solved with reinstalling linux-firmware

I now can see output and input devices correctly in settings. Even if I
can see the mic, it is not working though but this might be related with
something else, I will investigate further.

I'm using an updated Intrepid on an x61 and the problem still exists. My
display is very dimmed and when I use brightness up and down controls it
doesn't affect to display even backlight OSD goes up and down. It was
working perfectly before the last updates.
