Hi,
a workaround
hitting SHIFT and moving the mouse scroll wheel moves the horizontal
scroll bar around.

I have the same problem with a Dell Vostro 1000 laptop with the SB600
ATI southbridge, R482 northbridge and Sempron 3600+ cpu.
The boot stops with the message about modules.dep when I try to use an
USB key.
The use of noacpi=off and related options don't solve the problem.

Worked fine for my GEFORCE 8500 GT. I'm using Hardy 32 bit.
I'm waiting for envy tho handle the new ATI driver, since following
phoronix.com it has a lot of new utilities.
