The problem seems to be the USB device 8087:0020, the Intel Rate Matching Hub.
As soon as I disable it in the BIOS, suspend works.

I experience the same problem with karmic, even with WPA2-PSK disabled.
Is there maybe some sort of power-management that causes this problem? Still
nothing in the logs, and as ndiswrapper crashes on karmic, I cannot test the

I'm using a notebook with a Broadcom BCM4322, which is correctly set up with

Only if I run update-manager manually, I see that there are new packages
available.

t3rmin4t0r proposed what should be the default: Make /bin/sh configurable by
update-alternatives without manual intervention.
So no, the manual method is not good enough, if there's more than one program
to do the job, you have to be able to configure it with update-alternatives out
of the box.

I agree that this is not a critical error, but nonethelesse a kernel oops is
not exactly a nice to have.

Both kernels (intrepid and jaunty) show the same behavior, I tested to
2.6.28 on my intrepid box to check if this problem still existed in the
upcoming version.
