It looks like it is Keyboard Shortcuts Preferences that do not get the
info about new workspaces ... I tried to use gconf-edit to fix this, and
that worked :) In gconf-edit the new workspaces is available to add
shortcuts to, so I did. But they do not turn up in Keyboard Shortcuts
