Ok, I did, but negative. It went to sleep mode and came back (without
the VGA, it remained in sleep mode!).

driver to r8168, it seems ok now. Moreover, it doubled the speed. With
the r8169 driver it was around 9-10,000 kbytes/sec max., now it is
continuously more than 20,000

Same problem here, since upgraded from Ubuntu 8.10 (and previously 8.04) to
9.04. Realtek r8168 NIC (RTL8111/8168B), worked fine before.

It seams to me I have the same problem, but with the latest 9.04. It
worked under 8.10, but since it has been upgraded the eth0 goes down and
come up again automatically on heavy traffic (eg. I want to backup the
harddisk over the lan). On normal use (SSH, updates, web server
access) it
