[Bug 371276] [NEW] Fresh Install 9.04, nvidia MCP55 ethernet not working

2009-05-03 Thread Harrison Metzger
Public bug reported: I booted my computer with a 9.04 ubuntu CD and my ethernet didn't work. Because I didn't want to risk having an installation of ubuntu with no network, I decided not to install it. If there is a fix for this already, that would be great, too bad I can't download it on the

[Bug 228417] Re: random lockups, screen off, USB keyboard stops working (numlock etc), sys-rq-b doesnt work. Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H; nvidia 8600 GT

2008-06-13 Thread Harrison Metzger
One of my rigs has the same mobo. As for grub keyboard in grub, you will need to go into the BIOS and enable usb keyboard support. As for the keyboard randomly stopping working, that is a problem I have too. I plugged in a backup PS2 Keyboard and did a dmesg to see if I saw anything, but I did

Thanks Chrestoph! Once I switched my BIOS to AHCI and adding pci=nomsi to grub, I can boot fine. What exactly do all those commands do? -- S-ATA2 HDD not recongnized (Samsung T166 Spinpoint)/ Nvidia Sata Controller (nforce 780a) not working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/199573 You received

[Bug 132224] [users-admin] /etc/gnome-system-tools/users/profiles by default has multiple default profiles

2007-08-13 Thread Harrison Metzger
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools The file /etc/gnome-system-tools/users/profiles contains definitions of type of users (i.e. desktop user, administrator). It is used by gnome- system-tools-uses-admin. This file is a distro specific file (I believe as it is not in the

[Bug 130012] Re: Can not build from source: missing header libebook/e-book.h

2007-08-10 Thread Harrison Metzger
I am using control-center-2.18.1-0ubuntu2.1 (from apt-get source gnome- control-center). I am using ubuntu 7.04. When I do ./configure make I get no error actually. However, it will build all the capplets except about-me. Its possible I get an error but it does not cause make to abort so its

[Bug 130012] Re: Can not build from source: missing header libebook/e-book.h

2007-08-10 Thread Harrison Metzger
Yes I have that installed. The header is there. Either the c file needs to specify the full path name (off the the include) directory or the -I/usr/include/evolution-data-server-1.10 needs to be there so the compiler will know where to get the header. What is the correct way to build a package,

[Bug 130012] Re: Can not build from source: missing header libebook/e-book.h

2007-08-10 Thread Harrison Metzger
I know how to use the bug system. Looking at ./configure in more depth, the about-me capplet is not enabled by default. I need to do: ./configure --enable-aboutme. After that it builds fine (the non- ubuntu/debian way). Sorta odd that about-me is not enabled by default, but all others are. Sorry

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center I have all the build dependiciences for gnome-control-center, but when I try to build it from source I can not. I got my source by doing: apt-get source gnome-control-center However I located the header file and its behind some

[Bug 25947] Re: [users-admin] should warn the user of what he's doing when unselecting the administration group

2007-08-01 Thread Harrison Metzger
I have posted a patch on the upsteam gnome bugzilla. Its not as fancy as Phil's suggestion, but it will warn each user when removing themselves from the admin group. If you think its needed I could add a system that will check root pw is not empty or atleast one user is in the admins group. But

This happens to me on 64-bit too. When I do regular genius (not gnome- genius) I do not have this problem when I type help. I ran gnome-genius from my console and here is the backtrace: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gnome-genius *** glibc detected *** gnome-genius: malloc(): memory corruption:
