Can confirm that sudo apt install linux-generic-hwe-20.04 makes
everything work. Didn't have to remove OEM.
I've tried some earlier generic-kernels where the screen scaling
(running 4k) would be off and the buttons for controlling the light (F5
F6) didn't work.
But using the latest generic

The issue I've faced is that somehow the media key of X86PlayPause event
cannot be thrown if not the xbindkeys package is sending it through that
specific setting.
It could be that somewhere else I've set some setting for that to
happen, but I have no idea where to look.
I've now purged
Apparently when I was looking for a way to globally assign the media
keys to work with every program, I thought that these lines somehow had
something to do with it not working as it should. I suddenly remembered
the change and switched it back as I thought it didn't do anything.
However, it did
I meant that when trying to assign the PlayPause media button to any
command, it does not execute that command. The key is not broken, as is
displayed in the attached evtest output.

Looked to make the media keys work globally. When determined that was
close to impossible in my case, I set so only one program had the
ability to do so through dbus. However, I found out that the PlayPause
did not work. The command works, but when assigning it to that button
Have Radeon HD 7340 [1002:9808], I am experiencing this problem with any
amd64 distribution. 32bit (i386) work just fine.
