Public bug reported:

installing anything through ubuntu store fails and says update manager
needs to repair packages - clicking repair doesn't fix anything, and
trying to do update manager manually fails too

have "sudo killall apt-get" and "sudo killall aptitude" (just in case)
and both report no process found
