I too have experienced this issue (Dell Precision 5510, Samsung PM951 512GB). I am now running the Kernel from Kai-Heng Feng (Posting #61) since about 4.5h with no troubles. I'll let the machine run downloads through the night, if it crashes I will report back. For now the fix seems to work. --

I am experiencing the same problem. Xubuntu 14.04, all updates until 02.04.2014. My system is a lenovo x200 with intel graphics. When I resume from suspend-to-ram, I get the password screen as expected, but at minimum screen brightness. This can be corrected with the screen brightness hotkeys.

I should perhaps add that I have texlive-full installed on *all* of these machines, and the included package texlive-common (or tex-common?) caused troubles during the upgrade, requiring me to do apt-get install -f and apt-get dist-upgrade manually on all these machines. But I don't quite see how
