Jaunty used ghostscript as a backend for a while. While using
ghostscript backend printing worked.
Now they have changed back to poppler, and printing is no longer working
using recommended driver.
I guess it is poppler not implementing font embedding in a proper ps 2

Found a better way to disable hal's handling of the events

Simply add attached hal file to /etc/hal/fdi/information.
The file overrides the keymapping of thinkpad extra button.

My T42 handles brightness and sound in hardware.
Gnome-power-manager should accept the event, show a notification, and
remember the current state of brightness.

Same problem here with SL500 running Jaunty.

During idle use with LVDS on (brightness as low as possible), my laptop uses
between 8,3W and 8.8W.
During idle with lvds turned off (DPMS off), it uses 8,4W.
Measured with powertop.
This means I have no real powersaving, by letting it turn off the
monitor !
Normally I could win ½ hour on

As said in bug #292087 this should be fixed in thinkpad-acpi release
0.21-20081019.

The thinkpad_acpi version in current jaunty says 0.21. But I think its
pre 20081019 !

Measuring with powertop 1.11 my hardware generates approx 10 wakeups/s .

Running /usr/share/acpi-support/screenblank works fine.
Seems fn+F3 is not handeld by acpid anymore. ?
