There is a .37 kernel package for omap in the linaro maintainers kernel
ppa if anyone is inclined to try it. There is also a meta package
there. Beware that the omap4 support is still a work in progress. The
main missing feature is framebuffer.

Public bug reported:
The default env for i.mx51 needs to look for a boot.scr script on mmc
before falling back to network boot. This is how beagle works. A fix
has already gone upstream but needs to be pulled into our packaged

** Affects: u-boot-linaro (Ubuntu)

Fixed with updated hwpack that contains ppa u-boot:
hwpack_linaro-imx51_20101110-0_armel_unsupported.tar.gz
Now boots to shell prompt. Bug should remain open until official u-boot
is updated to include fix. But not a showstopper for release.

still something else needed to fix this.

This bug is likely an artifact of the patch applied to fix #624115.
Bug #624115 happened when RMK decided to make ioremap of ram fail. He
did this in his -next before the 2.6.36 cycle started. I assume the
idea was to fix the framebuffer drivers that used ioremap later. Linux-

I think this ubuntu commit should fix this:

The corruption goes away over time which points to a caching or
buffering problem. Also if you cat /dev/urandom to the screen while
doing the test then the corruption is more readily seen as occurring in
equal sized vertical lines of pixels. I have not counted them but they
seem about 32 pixels

On careful inspection of the armel strace output we can
see that the result buffer of the first readlink result has
extra non null garbage after the 17 bytes copied in by
readlink:
readlink(test-linkat.tlink1, test-linkat.tsub1..., 1025) = 17
readlink(test-linkat.tlink5, test-linkat.tsub1, 1025)
Steve pointed out that areadlink_with_size does append the null byte so
this theory was bogus.
