While Upgrading from 7.10 to 8.04 a message said that it was impossible
to upgrade openoffice and asked me to report an error. So I did.

I marked #172346 now as duplicate.
The problem is, that some special chars that depend on single laguages
make problems in passwords: öäüß (german) but also §.
Maybe wpasupplicant should check if the used special chars could make problems,
and allow only non-problematic special chars like
It happened also to me, installing the standard firefox with java.
So I confirmed it (hope not to be wrong with this).

While installing, java made the above mentioned error, but then adept crashed
and it seems that the lockfile is still locked, because i was not able to
reopen adept because of another process using the package database.

I tried to establish a wireless connection with my Router throug WPA/WPA2.
I had a 63-character-password. When knetworkmanager asked me for the password,
it did not accept 63 chars. So I shortened the password to 62 chars. Since I

The cause for the bug are the special characters.
This Characters:
!$%/()=?;:,._-*+
were not a problem.
But this:
§
Maybe also others.
63 char long characters are NOT a problem, if ther are no nasty special chars.

On Kubuntu Gutsy Beta it seems to be fixed. I did not have these problems
anymore with the live version.

Yuriy, I did not get the same error messages.
I attached the output of the commands:
:~$ kcmshell displayconfig
:~$ sudo kcmshell displayconfig
For :~$ systemconfig
I didn't get anny errors.

With Gutsy live CD from 2007-09-21,
starting adept I got the error:
The APT Database could not be opened! This may be caused by incorrect APT
configuration or some similar problem. Try running apt-setup and apt-get update
in terminal and see if it helps to resolve the problem.

I got the same problem with Gutsy alpha daily-release from 2007-09-21.
I tested the live CD. Since it did not give me the right resolution I tried to
change it.
But the module Monitor Display could not be loaded. Same error as in the
bugreport.
