I enabled Pre-released updates in the software sources application. Then I installed the package linux-backports- modules-jaunty. The wifi problem seems to have been solved. And I haven't experienced any side effects. I have now disabled the Pre-released updates and hope that all goes well.

With the radeon opensource driver system seems to be more stable (but slower on graphic). I will keep it running for a while. This is a partial log I collect immediately before system hangs (fglrx drivers). The other part seems to be impossible to save... Anyway, i will try to catch it next
