Got notification in the tray, clicked in and inputted correct admin
password. Window opened, 1st of several uprage steps started, suddenly
after a minute error info box pops up saying could not complete.

I got a notification that said that a new version of Kubuntu is
available. Clicked on it, after a few seconds at the 1st step, upgrade
could not procedd or something like that. My system is rather out of
date though so that might be the issue. Will update and try again.
Fix from #14 solved this for me in Karmic Beta too.

The fix from #2 worked for me. About 10 restarts/boots without incident.
