I just updated the xserver-xorg-core package to xserver-xorg-
core_1.15.1-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb and I can confirm that the corrupted
graphics problem is now fixed.

Actually, I hadn't really tested it as I forgot I was using nomodeset
as a workaround. I've now tested it for real. I was able to just update
xserver-xorg-core and xserver-common. Fix confirmed.

IMO, this bug is not (only) an openoffice bug. I have tried, and it
seems for me to be the most common approach, to install the Spanish
dictionary with the add/remove application menu item. Unfortunately,
it's just impossible to be successful doing it that way. I had to make
an apt-cache search
I think that displaying a dialogbox with the following message (or
something better) is an acceptable workaround :
You have to restart Nautilus to benefit from the new plugin.
Do you want to do it now (this will close all you Nautilus windows) ?

A. Walton, If I correctly understand, your patch allows to Nautilus to
run plugins without to have being restarted... and to add a plugin and
use it, we will just need to write a file in the special Nautilus plugin
