I can confirm this behaviour. Intended outcome should be restart showed
'restart' as the default option and shut down showed 'shut down'. Now
the gear menu entries are essentially the same. Restart seems completely
vain and inoperational. It does nothing right now. Maybe it should be
done away
I have the same greyed out controls in Nautilus Menu (copy-paste,
rename). I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit with Unity, fresh install.
Usually closing and re-opening Nautilus (Launcher Home) helps
temporarily.

I can confirm this behaviour on a clean installation of Maverick final.
My USB stick remounts (Nautilus window popping up) when I select Safely
Remove Drive on right-click menu. I miss the old unmount option, too.
I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 32-Bit on ASRock Ion 330.

I can confirm that Plymouth is not yet working on Acer Aspire 5310 and
Ubuntu 10.04 clean install with the latest updates. The behaviour at
boot is the same as above: no Plymouth screen but blinking cursor,
screen backlight on and off and text is displayed no matter what the
