I also have this problem. `banshee --debug` shows that beat detection is
running. I would assume that's an intensive process, have you guys tried
that?

I am also affected by such a bug,
but mine is caused by changing power sources (EG from AC to battery)
during suspend. The login screen will show and the computer will go back
to sleep.
The desired affect is the computer to act the same regardless of power
