success with ipmitool. After an apt-get upgrade on the 11th (trusty) and
a reboot, the issues did not appear for me. I did not refresh after the

- There is no CD in the drive. The drive is empty.
- The physical switch on the CD-ROM drive also does nothing.

issues mixed into this bug report some of which are unlikely to ever get
fixed (like the use of /etc/hosts via NIS). Probably the clearest thing

2.6.26 so this should simply be a case of enabling the driver in Kconfig

There is something else going wrong with your system here. yphelper
should be doing exactly the same thing as ypwhich and using a
YPPROC_MAPLIST call to the server to enumerate the maps it supports. The
difference is that yphelper can run without being bound to the server

I can't reproduce this here using 7.10 on an AMD64 - the device binds
straight away. Your comment about playing with --no-dbus indicates that
there may be some issues here with startup ordering with respect to the
network interface coming up. Does this problem occur only on startup or
does it also

It's only an issue in dapper - it was a bug in the compiler which was
resolved before feisty.
Will try to test this weekend.
