The problem is still occuring on the OfficeJet 6500. The printout is shifted to the top of the paper if the margin is small sometimes a part of the page is missing. It happens with any printed pdf from evince. I do not know if it affects also other pdf viewers like acrobat or other programs like

For me it's definitely not a disk space problem. I have 9GB available. Furthermore it's not the number of old kernels in the menu.lst .. there are only two. probably its my setting of the default booted kernel. default is set to saved. @Thad: as a beginner you should not do this manually.
