A UEFI partition seems to be a requirement when installing 20.10.
Create a 50 to 100 Megabyte partition using Gparted and flag it as boot
and esp. Then select this partition and change it to EFI System
Partition. Finally select a root partition and perhaps a data or home
partition. I installed

This was my fifth attempt to install MATE 20.10 on a Dell laptop using
BIOS mode and this particular laptop made it all the way to an apport
report as the wifi worked during install.
I think this bug has been previously reported as bug #1885414

This morning, January 11, 2020, after opening the laptop lid and
browsing several sites, I used Synaptic Package Manager to update MATE
20.04 5.4.0-9 generic and the clock-applet crashed before the update had
finished. Perhaps Synaptic is somehow the source of this problem.

Yesterday evening I updated the system. Upon opening the laptop lid this
morning, I received a notice that clock had quit unexpectedly.

Gparted entry up or down problem. This was observed on two Dell laptops

I note that this issue does not exist in Ubuntu-MATE 19.10 alpha
(September 16, 2019) using gvfs 1.42.0-1ubuntu1 and Caja to SFTP both to
and from a server. Files can be copied without changing their
timestamps.

mozo crashed with IndexError in
I continue to have problems moving anything either up or down in the
mozo menu listings. I have made extensive changes using mozo to the
Applications Menu. My only change to the System>Administration menu is
the addition of Gparted. Please let me know if I should add more
information.

I updated today (August 29th, which included a mozo update) rebooted and
reverted all changes in mozo. After that, I moved Gparted (which should
read as Gparted Partition Editor in Properties but does not, instead
reading as Gparted) from Other to System>Administration where I can not
move it up
