this. I know suhosin is a patch as well. I just wanted to mention that.

In 2.6.32-16 with the wireless backports the wireless seemed to work
fine. In the git repo for linus' 2.6 branch 2.6.32 works great,

Almost forgot to mention this.. gnome-power-manage adjusts the
brightness absolutely fine. It seems to be just the keyboard input
that's not recognized.

This obviously isn't specific to Ubuntu or Firefox. There's a lot lot
lot more to it. I looked over many work-arounds and I came to the
conclusion that what I came up with wasn't a work-around but rather the
best way to manually install these packages (java/flash).

Just a note, some work has been done upstream but the issue seems to
have been put on the back burner. Personally, I only mount what I
actually use. My /vm, /boot, /media/windows only get mounted when I need
them.
