I had all the symptoms above, flashing moon, power off as the only
soltuion. My W500 was using 10.10 after upgrade form 10.4. I switched
the BIOS from integrated to descrete (Intel to ATI) and haven't done
anything else. Things are 100% so far. I'm up to 3day uptime now!

The PPA (LUCID: https://launchpad.net/~info-g-com/+archive/xserver-
xorg-1.7.6-gc ) works great on my Lenovo W500 (01:00.0 VGA compatible
controller: ATI Technologies Inc Mobility Radeon HD 3650) with one
exception, when resuming it can sometimes churn the disk for a minute or
two..

I'm still a bit rough with IPv6, but configuring a manual v6 prefix
allows dual stack and link-local networks (I didn't config a v6
static/default). Seems to be an autoconfig issue and or stateless
config issue. Has anyone tried Stateful autoconfiguration (aka DHCP)???

Seems to install properly and run kstars. Hopefully indi will talk to
my mount now! :)
Its cold out and I'd like to use it to drive the setup remotely from

I think the symbolic link only works for RDP as it seems to break all
keyboard control locally for vnc connections! vnc works on the vinagre
viewer though, just not on krdc

I added the ppa as suggested and it breaks the dependencies on the gnome
flavored ubuntu 9.04 with this error:

issue. Also be sure you keep the fan running or the CPU cool. I know if you
authorize the CPU Frequency Scaling Monitor 2.26.1 you can maunally set the CPU

live cd via unetbootin which didn't work. Perhaps the Intrepid Gods
were threated by that and decided to shape up! I did a supend resume

Is there anything else needed besides the scripts and setting them
read/write/execute? I've got a clean Intrepid install and cannot get
resume to work more than once without rebooting. I tried the ubuntu
restricted drivers as well as envy-ng.
This persistent bug has me thinking about opensuse
I don't think using gnome desktop and Dave's scripts helped. I was able
to resume again, but compiz didn't restart and when I used fusion-icon
to start and or refresh, the window'ed contents are frozen but
interactable via emerald. I can move the windows, but can't type in the

I was able to affect a positive change by opening evolution and deleting
some slow and or broken calendars.
Evolution with Exchange is broken (LP Bug: 207723), so I'm not too
surprised that it mucks up the calendar.

The scripts have worked pretty well for me a few times now. I do notice
that the load (not CPU) starts VERY high but does drop over time and
doesn't seem to cause any major issues. What I have noticed is that the
cube feature of compiz seems to disappear in favor of a 2 paned wall.
Any ideas?

I wasn't about to call it a success yet, but feel much more confident.
I used Dave's Compiz Fusion Icon trick to reload the windows manager.
It might be easier than dropping into VT and typing it by hand...

pcmcia. I've got a 12v DC transformer that plugs into the card to feed
power to the camera via the bus, but not the PCMCIA itself.

I'd really love to get something working but am struggling greatly.
My suspend procedure goes into text mode before powering down.
Upon resume, I see a flashing cursor in the upper right. Sometimes that
stays there, sometimes it goes black. Sometimes I can ctrl+alt+F2 back
to a text login
I do usually doc my T60p into a port replicator but not always. I had
some success 2 times in a row! But then I saw a bug that CPU0 is stuck
for 11s. I also noticed the load was unusually high but processor use
was ok. I tried a manual powernod stop before suspend and no good
either.
