still not clear to me how those strings are used in unity.

similar problem with the Italian translation of xchat-gnome, and the
problem was really related to the translation. If I'm not wrong, there
could be problems with the strings in xchat-gnome that look like this

While going through the steps of the new graphical installer, I saw a

I tested it with lates ISO image, and this problem is still there: te string is
not localized when I change the installer language.

Last time I talked with Shaun about this (when the problem was
reported, so almost a while back), looked like the problem was only in
Ubuntu.
We should probably test with another distribution and see if the
problem occurs there too (I can probably test it with Fedora).

As I said a couple of comments before, this very package is in universe
and we (the Italian Translators Team) cannot translate it nor fix it via
Launchpad. The bug should be forwarded upstream or to the last
translator.
