Got it fixed after removing below folders:
.fontconfig
.fonts
and file
.fonts.conf
for some reason, my font cache was cribbing about obsolete cache so
tried this. Now it's working.
As of now I don't those folders again created, so some locally installed
fonts are missing. But that's fine.
This problem still exists on Jaunty. Here are the details. However if
I start FF3.5 or TB3 with gksudo (as root) subpixel smoothing works like
a charm.
Display settings:
using Subpixel smoothing (LCDs)
Hinting : slight
Subpixel order : RGB

Followed your instructions, it worked like a charm. It imported the
group password correctly and most important, now the option is available
to configure the option such as Saved, Always Ask and Not
required. These complete the Cisco VPN connection saga on Ubuntu.
