Just for the record: The following bug is a collection of all issues with GTK's
CSD:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=729721
Martin proposed a IMHO useful plan for handling CSD outside GNOME there.

I think this one is related to #554172. As recommended there I did the
following:
- add --verbose to kernel commandline
- recorded boot.log with and without --debug
- recorded the output of initctl list with and without --debug
- noted the runlevel for both cases
By the way. It seems as if

Is this some race condition?

Assuming the problem is hpijs, wouldn't it be possible to use
alternative drivers for those HP printers, e.g. gutenprint drivers as a
work-around? They seem to work for me.

I've the same problem on lucid using intel drivers and xv.
XV doesn't work using gstreamer or vlc.
When disabling the 2nd monitor xv works fine in vlc, but gstreamer seems to
activate the 2nd monitor uppon playback.

Same (similar) problem here.
I guess it's the same problem for all bug-reports reading waiting for
network connection. The reason is network-manager.
As I have a imobile computer using wlan I don't use network-manager,
because the log-in to the wireless LAN only appears on per-user base.
Tested today on two machines, one with a LAN card, the other with a
WLAN-card configured in network/interfaces to use dhcp, network doesn't
come up after boot.
an ifdown eth0 ; ifup eth0 in /etc/rc.local helps as a workaround,
but networkmanager keeps complaining that there is no network
