I have connectivity issues with this problem. The only reason I noticed
the connectivity issue is because my work VPN disconnects. Otherwise I
wouldn't have noticed. So I guess that this is a loss of only a few
packets which TCP will definitely recover for most applications.

Maybe the icon wouldn't be mixed up if the kernel (or gnome-power-

@vvekecki: where is the fix? I can't find it in the upower (ubuntu) code

@Micah
Sorry, I think I found the correct upstream this time.
I just inspected the source for gmail (which is most links I click in prism
demonstrating the wrong behavior) and the html looks like:
a href=https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=559524;
The attached screenshot is my prism window before opening a link. Note
that I delete my .prism/gmail/profile/compatibility.ini before each
prism launch with a script to workaround bug #518422.
** Attachment added: lp-224849-before-opening-link.png
On this screenshot, I clicked on a link in the email: this bug's link.
Instead of opening in the default browser, it opened in a prism popup
even though it is nothing like *google.com.
** Attachment added: lp-224849-clicking-target-_new-link.png
This time, I clicked on the ad link in the blue bar. Instead of opening
a popup, it opened in the prism main window. The most annoying thing is
that this is what happens with links in chat windows too.
Strangely, the title bar is still gmail's.
I am willing to test further, the only thing is
@Micah, the upstream bug suggests that it's external links inside prism
popups that aren't opened using the default system browser. However,
every external link I click open in the main prism window instead of the
default browser.

I was able to get gears running in prism, see bug #481498 for details.
You'll need xul-ext-gears and not the xpi from google.
Lengthy explanation there:
I'm bitten by this also in Lucid.
What's strange is that webapp.ini include or exclude parameters don't
change anything at all. I quickly checked the mozilla-labs-prism google
group and found nothing about this. I'll keep looking for a bit.

This is another problem (well, to my knowledge) described here:

Your kernel (2.6.27-11.23smb2) doesn't work for me. I am exactly at the

Which was, for me, the first regression. Before everything was fine in

I've tested the kernel suggested by Andy in comment #5 and the
brightness started working again for me. Hotkeys are working also.
My problem was that after the update of the kernel from
2.6.27-10-generic to 2.6.27-11-generic (using proposed updates) the
brightness on my laptop was not changeable.
I support Simos' suggestion. I would not normally agree with a
workaround like this but since it is a developer package it would be
tolerable.
I also think current eclipse users would find it pretty intuitive. In
the past (when eclipse was part of ubuntu) I always started eclipse as
