Public bug reported:
I just upgraded a 12.04 LTS to 14.04.
After rebooting, I get to an empty login screen, with no widgets to
select the user or enter the password. Blindly hitting enter and
entering the password successfully logs me in, and the session starts.

I had the same error message when using fast user switching. This is

Hi,
Ah, good. I wasn't sure whether there was a way to move to LibreOffice
on 10.04 LTS (though I have to admit I didn't really search for it).
Anyway. I just installed LibreOffice 3.3.2-1ubuntu1~lucid2. The same
problem is still present.
I guess the bug should be reopenned and moved to the

Well, removing libflash-mozplugin seems to have fixed it. This is
strange as the distribution upgrade is not recent, and the problem only
appear a couple of days ago. I'm closing the bug for now (and hopefully
ever).
I'm suprised, though, that the flash plugin would cause this as I

Additionally to the previous comment, I tried to remove the nvidia-
common package (as the computer I'm working on is ATI-based). Apt-file
confirms that the script is part of nvidia-common:
$ apt-file search /etc/kernel/postinst.d/nvidia-common

permissions like -rw-r--r-- and drwxr-xr-x, respectively.”
Have you tried adding the {{{quiet}}} option as well? That may be even
better (don't have my test Unison test setup to try it here, though).

Hi,
Same setup here: syncing an ext3 fs to a vfat USB disk on Gutsy.
Changing the PRF file actually solves the problem, but a more generic
problem remains. Gnome-mount should mount the VFAT volumes with the
quiet option by default, to avoid errors when trying to set Unix-like
permissions.

Public bug reported:
The `quiet` option for VFAT file systems allow to silently ignore Unix-
