I don't have access to that system!
But it has ATI graphic card with open source ATI drivers.
It's graphic had some problems.
But now, in another system I face with this error and apport did not

Same problem here.
It happened in Intrepid and it is OK on 8.04.
It hangs after locking screen, nothing works, I cannot switch to other
virtual consoles but network works correct.
I think it is because of xorg!

Compiz is not working here with latest intrepid upgrades too.
I have intel driver + mesa 7.1~rc3 + compiz 0.7.7

created, in only one test, they are fine!
But, in my default profile, sometimes I have title bar, sometimes I don't have!
This happened by simply closing and opening firefox!
