Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: grub2
After upgrading from Maverick Meerkat to Natty Narwhal, grub will no
longer boot to any of my partitions. I am using Ubuntu 64 bit.
I have managed to boot back into Ubuntu by replacing this line:
set root='(/dev/mapper/nvidia_bfhaeede,msdos5)'
My current grub.cfg. This coupled with the readout of fdisk -l should
give you a better idea of how the partition table is laid out.

2.6.35-27-generic Nvidia graphics fail
Public bug reported:
I am using Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit version and a Geforce 9600GT.
When I applied updates using Update Manager I installed a newer kernel
(2.6.35-27-generic). When I rebooted the system, I could not get X to
start.
I have tried using a couple of extra boot parameters like
Nvidia drivers already at the latest version.

I don't _think_ it's the same problem. The fault behaves like a regular
failure to start x. Text login is fine. Also, my home partition is ext4.
I will kill pulseaudio then try to start x, then report back.

However, I did manage to get a Xorg log. Looks like something to do with
failing to load the Nvidia kernel module?

that as scroll lock is not really used in an X session. Scroll lock
